St. John’s Northwestern Announces Alumnus Brandin Podziemski as 2026 Commencement Speaker

Delafield, Wisconsin — St. John’s Northwestern is proud to welcome back one of its own, Brandin Podziemski, as the keynote speaker for the Academy’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony.

Now a standout guard for the Golden State Warriors, Podziemski has quickly built a reputation for his work ethic, leadership, and team-first approach. His return to campus is a full-circle moment and a powerful reminder of the impact of an SJN education.

“We are honored to welcome Brandin back to campus,” said Mike Fink, Executive Vice President of St. John’s Northwestern. “As a graduate, he understands the values we work to instill in all of our students, discipline, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. His journey reflects those principles, and we know his message will resonate with our graduates.”

Podziemski’s path to the NBA speaks to persistence and growth. He began his collegiate career with the Illinois Fighting Illini before transferring to the Santa Clara Broncos, where he emerged as one of the top players in the country. A breakout season earned him national recognition and ultimately a first-round selection by the Warriors.

At commencement, Podziemski will share lessons from his journey, offering graduates a perspective on overcoming adversity, embracing change, and pursuing excellence both on and off the court.

The 2026 Commencement Ceremony will take place on the historic campus of St. John’s Northwestern in Delafield, bringing together graduates, families, alumni, and friends to celebrate the Class of 2026.
