SJNA Raider Challenge Team Excels at 3rd Brigade Championship

DELAFIELD, Wis. – The St. John’s Northwestern (SJN) Raider Challenge Team delivered an outstanding performance at the Annual 3rd Brigade Championship in Marshfield, Missouri, securing a second-place overall finish against dozens of competitive teams.

The Raider Challenge is one of the most demanding JROTC competitions, designed to test cadets’ endurance, teamwork, and leadership through physically and mentally challenging events. Competing in hot and grueling conditions, the Lancers proved their strength, resilience, and unity throughout the meet.

Team Results:

  • 1st Place – CCR (Cross-Country Rescue)
  • 2nd Place – Terrain 5K
  • 2nd Place – PPT (Physical Proficiency Test)
  • 2nd Place – Gauntlet
  • 3rd Place – Rope Bridging

These top finishes propelled SJN to second-place overall ranking at the championship.

In addition to the team’s success, two cadets earned recognition in the Ultimate Raider competition. Cadet Ethan Edwards captured first place in the male division in his first-ever Ultimate Raider event. Cadet Allison Belt delivered a strong performance and finished second in pursuit of her third consecutive Ultimate Raider title, coming within a quarter of an inch of victory.

The Raider Challenge Team is one of several extracurricular opportunities offered through SJNA’s Corps of Cadets program. By blending athletics, academics, and leadership training, the program develops discipline, perseverance, and teamwork that prepare students for success in college, career, and life. The Raiders’ impressive showing sets the tone for a promising season ahead.
