St. John's Northwestern leads the charge when it comes to offering a state-of-the-art STEM learning experience. The Engineering Robotics & Aviation (ERA) program stands alone, and our 12-1 student-to-teacher ratio ensures an intimate learning experience. SJN gives students the opportunity to earn their private pilot's license, and engage in our strong robotics and cyber-security programs, and a first-of-its-kind drone program.

In the 2024-25 academic year, upgrades have continued on the Engineering Robotics & Aviation Lab, which features custom-designed workstations that are the envy of any STEM lab!

Our 3D printing lab empowers students to bring their ideas to life. With high-resolution printers and industry-standard design software, students gain hands-on experience in a variety of fields.

Students at SJN are offered the chance to earn their private pilot license during their schooling and also make use of our brand new state-of-the-art flight simulator!

Based on the cutting-edge leadership from Nick Chaillan, SJN's cybersecurity program sets our students up with an incredible foundation in this ever-growing sector. Students gain real-world knowledge in protecting systems and networks.

Drones

We offer a first-of-its-kind drone program that allows students to pilot, record, and earn a certified commercial drone pilot license. Our personal drone instructor guides students through photography, video, and career skills in the field.

E.R.A. Program FAQ's

No, you can choose as many or as few classes in the E.R.A. program as you would like. Our dedicated faculty will help you in your journey and guide you to discover your true potential at SJN.

Yes, any student can choose classes from within our amazing Engineering, Robotics, & Aviation Program.

It is not limited to those who participate in the JROTC-Leadership or any other specialized programs. It is open to all enrolled at SJN.

No, our students' uniforms differ based on our JROTC-Leadership program, not on an E.R.A. basis.

Students who choose to be a part of our historic JROTC-Leadership Program wear the traditional military uniforms of SJNA.

All other students dress in a traditional prep school way, as you see in many of the pictures on our site. Polos, quarter-zips, long pants, along with a more formal blazer, dress shirt combination for more formal events.
